Time flies…

Time is flying. It is already mid-July and one and half month of holidays already passed by. Soon, very soon, I will be heading for a new country for a few days and hopefully, get the most out of that trip.

I have developed a positive attitude towards travelling and meeting new people over the time. I can’t deny the fact that “travelling broadens the mind.”
It does, indeed!

I will be forever grateful to the persons who gave me the chance to do it.

Month of June in Review

One month has elapsed since I started my internship and research assistantship job on campus. The first 3 weeks were quite painful and the last week of June was stressful.

I had to face the boredom of the RA job and the novelty of the internship. My final week for the month of June was seen with an additional workload for AIESEC.

Nevertheless, I do not regret a single moment the decision I have made to take all those responsibilities.
Juggling between 3 different jobs, time management, from planning each task to planning each day of the week, was a great success, I have learnt a few stuffs and I have made new friends as well in the process.

Overall, the month of June 2011 was a satisfying one. I am happy to say it

Work or Grad School?

One year from now, I will be done with my third and final year of university. Hopefully, I will be graduating and looking for a job or internship.

The main question which is haunting me is…Should I be applying for jobs or grad school?

I have to admit that I could literally represent my dilemma as a Prisoner’s Dilemma problem. Without going into the details,

Here are some pros and cons of NOT going to grad school:

- Possibility of earning some money

- Acquiring real work experience

- Networking

- Sit for CIMA exams…

- Not sure If i will want to go back to school after starting work (as the motivation may drop and there could be some other reasons holding me back)

It’s been a week since Green Agent Summit 2011

And I have been extremely busy with work. It’s hard to work but its harder to work almost 15 hours a day!

University’s summer holidays are meant for rest or for internships but my work is neither internship nor rest. It’s a dull and useless work (which brings very very very little experience) and it is not even related to my course of study. However the pay is decently acceptable and is the driving factor behind the motivation to keep on working!

As for experience in my related field of study, I shall acquire valuable one once i graduate. Hopefully, it won’t be a big weakness to my CV. On the other hand, with the hard earn pay check, I will fund my own trip for the next AIESEC Conference that I will be facilitating. Sounds great, isn’t it?

Post-AIESEC Faci(litator) in UTM

I reached my campus late at night on Thursday night, had a few hours of sleep before going back to work.

I have to admit that the facilitating experience is really amazing. Facilitators are the “bridge” between the delegates and the organisers, between the delegates and the conference’s theme.

My first 2 days in UTM were very hard as I was already exhausted upon arrival. Sleeping was kind of luxury. But things got better afterwards as I was 1000% into the conference mood.

There are a few things that I have noticed and think it is worth sharing. It’s all about life.

Don’t be disappointed if your expectations are not fulfilled.
Networking is good. So, network as much as you can.
People are who they are. Just listen to your own thoughts when it is necessary. You can’t accept or you can’t change something or someone, thats fine. Deal with it.
There’s so much things, yet to be learnt.

It’s good, really good to be a facilitator!

AIESEC Faci(litator) job…in UTM and general

I will be leaving very soon for the southern part of Malaysia to attend the Green Agent Summit 2011 – Organised by the LC UTM in their campus. I will be there as a facilitator (faci) and hopefully, I will do well and leave a good impression.

I’m also looking for more faci opportunities in Malaysia and nearby countries.

I believe that one qualities that I have is my ability to listen and digest what others are saying which is suitable for a faci. Moreover, I wish to enhance my self-leadership skills as it is one of the most important asset of a leader – leading himself and leading others.
